Michael Mosley’s simple trick lowers blood pressure in 2 minutes - not food

The late TV doctor highlighted a simple exercise that could help blood pressure when practised regularly
People hoping to improve their health may assume the answer lies in changing what they eat or cutting out certain foods. Nevertheless, Dr Michael Mosley once highlighted a different approach that can be done at home without the need to buy any equipment.
In a demonstration, the late TV doctor explained how holding a plank could form part of a routine aimed at helping to lower blood pressure. He explained: "The idea is you go up on your elbows, keep your body straight and hold this for as long as you can, ideally for up to two minutes, which I can assure you is a long time if you're doing the plank."
Dr Mosley, who sadly died in an accident on holiday in 2024, described it as an example of an isometric exercise, where muscles tense but the body does not move through a series of repetitions.
