MANILA – Some 86,815 minimum wage workers in Soccsksargen (Region 12) will benefit from a PHP41 increase in their daily wages under Wage Order No. XII-26.

In a news release Friday, DOLE-12 Regional Director and Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB)-12 Chairperson Imelda Gatinao said the wage adjustment will be implemented in two tranches, with an initial PHP16 taking effect on Nov. 22, or 15 days after the wage order’s publication on Nov. 6.

Labor Secretary Francis Tolentino announced the approval of the wage adjustment by the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) to help improve workers’ earnings early this week.

Upon full implementation, the daily minimum wage for workers in the non-agriculture, retail, and service sectors will increase from PHP460 to PHP501, while the rate for agricultural workers will rise from PHP443 to PHP484.
