CAIRO -- Airstrikes in a town near the capital, Sanaa, on Saturday killed 22 people and wounded 30 others, mostly women and children, a spokesman for Yemen’s Houthi-run Health Ministry said.
Speaking to The Associated Press, Anees Alasbahi accused Saudi Arabia of carrying out the strikes in the village of al-Shariya. There was no immediate comment from Saudi Arabia.
The attacks came a day after Houthi officials said 30 people were killed in strikes on a market in southern Yemen. The Iranian-backed Houthis and Yemen’s Saudi-backed military each blamed the other for that strike.
