Evelyn had spent years working with Hajia Maimuna in a privately owned company that handled several government contracts. She joined the company at the front desk and gradually worked her way up to become Hajia’s personal assistant. She was hardworking, dependable and exceptionally good at her job. Her efficiency was so remarkable that some people thought she was the general manager.

Hajia trusted her completely. Over time, that trust became so strong that she could travel on vacation and leave Evelyn and her son, Adamu, to run the company. Adamu was still in school but had always shown a keen interest in the family business. He spent a lot of time in the office, learning the ropes and working closely with Evelyn.

Adamu enjoyed working with her. Even when he had the option of working from home, he preferred going to the office.
