Detailed summary

Results for the Mt Roskill electorate in New Zealand's 2026 election, including votes for each candidate, and the party vote.

One of the smallest electorates by land area, Mt Roskill covers New Windsor, Mt Roskill, Lynfield, Waikowhai, Hillsborough and Blockhouse Bay, as well as parts of Three Kings.

Labour’s Phil Goff held Mt Roskill from its creation for the 1999 election until he resigned from Parliament in 2016. A by-election was held, won by Michael Wood also of the Labour Party. Wood was later defeated in the 2023 election by National’s Carlos Cheung.

Wood was a Cabinet minister under both Jacinda Ardern and Chris Hipkins but resigned his ministerial portfolios in mid 2023 after he failed to publicly declare shares he owned.

He stayed on to unsuccessfully contest Mt Roskill in 2023, and is standing again in this election.
